I have been away for the weekend away from a phone or computer and unable to post my daily writing, for that I apologize, but I did not go back on my commitment to write every day. Instead of posting online, I brought out a pen and paper and wrote posts the old fashioned way.(I will post them tomorrow)
I love hand writing. I have terrible, unreadable hand writing, but I love the smell of paper and the feel of a pencil or pen as it glides through cursive script. It's rhythmic, therapeutic and relaxing.
For the past couple days I have been surrounding myself with friends and loved ones. Jason was competing in a paintball tournament in Ottawa, and I went to cheer on the team. I got to beam with pride as Jason made some amazing plays, and got to struggle against my own desire to play; it's terrible to watch something and want to be a part of it so badly when you can't.
Then we left and drove another 5.5 hours to Huntsville and spent time on the lake. Rain, Sun, water skiing, swimming, cards, relaxation and tranquillity.
This vacation held a lot of stress triggers (hours driving and the dog in new environments to name a few) but it was incredible to get out of the house, away from the daily things that get under my skin and get back to the fun, relaxed, playful, creative and driven parts of myself.
Sometimes life gets so busy you can forget to pay attention to parts of yourself. It's refreshing to be whole again.
